Producer Wei-Wei Wang worked for ten years at the Chinese Social Science Institute as a photographer, videotographer and producer for television programs concerning the ethnic minority peoples of China. The Monkey Kid is his first feature film.

Executive Producer Andy Martin is a cartoonist whose work in the early underground tabloids is called the "Andy Martin classics of the Sixties" by the San Francisco Chronicle. He was co-founder of The Beijing-San Francisco Film Group and producer of their first production, The Blank Point and their current production, I'm seducible.
